The heavy-duty drive axle described features a double reduction matched pinion and bevel gear with an outboard planetary gear for final reduction. The brake system is foot-operated, hydraulically actuated wet disc brakes with a total braking area of 246 sq. in. Brakes can operate individually or simultaneously, and there’s a lever-operated park brake with a disc-type caliper located on the transmission.
Instruments include gauges for water temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, volt meter, and a park brake warning light. The unit also has a back-up alarm. The hydraulic system includes a 30.5 GPM capacity pump at 2200 PSI, a crankshaft-driven gear-type 2-stage pump, a pre-set relief valve, one master cylinder, and one mast side shift cylinder.
